How to properly report ongoing issues with your assignment on CE
When users face the following issues while working on an assignment on CE
- Video Playback.
- CE running slowly.
- Problem with saving events.
- Repetitive buffering.
And the standard (Clearing Cache and Cookies) trouble shooting steps does not help.
Apply the following steps for using Chrome Console to report the issue to Support or your contact person at Pixelogic.
Launch Chrome Console in the tab where you have a CE assignment opened.
To do this press Ctrl+Shift+J or Cmd+Option+J on Mac
If the Console does not appear on the right side of the screen, click on the three vertical dots to the left of the “X” in the Console’s menu bar and select “Dock to right”, in the “Dock side” section at the top of the drop-down menu, as show in the below screenshot.
Perform the required actions in the CE (Do you normal work) until you experience the issue that you would like to report.
Note: If the issue occurs when opening the CE by clicking the “Click here to launch job” (for example, after clicking the launch job link Chrome opens a new tab in which the Ce is launched but you get an error message and the CE does not load at all or the only video does not load), please refresh the browser page after opening the Console so that the CE is relaunched.
As soon as you reproduce the issue you want to report, take a screenshot.
Then right-click on the main window of the Console and select “Save as…” in the contextual menu that will appear and save the log that will be generated.
Then select the “Network” tab in the title bar and take another screenshot.
When you report the issue to support, attach the two screenshots and the log file you saved. Include a description of the issue you are experiencing and provide as many details as possible (i.e., when you started experiencing the issue and/or what combination of actions triggers the issue).
