Selecting the Correct Project Settings
Make sure you have asked your Territory Manager for your project’s Frame Rate.
Unless otherwise instructed, select Generic - OTT – Template – (Frame Rate).
Modifying the Project Settings
If needed, your Territory Manager will inform you to use different settings on a per-project basis, for example:
Type of Release: Theatrical (select “Theatrical”), DVD/Blu-ray/Disc (select “CEA”), English as a Second Language (select “ESL”), SDH, Closed Captioning (select CC).
Client-specific variations: character-limit, min/max duration, number of lines, reading speed.
NOTE:
If you are using EZTitles with predominantly one language, you may want to change the Default Language to your language for all your future projects:
Select a Project Setting > Subtitles (Tab) > Input Language (Select from drop-down menu) > Save > Yes.
Creating New Project Settings
If a client has very specific variations that are not covered by our default Project Settings and you are to use them for multiple files (like a series with many seasons/episodes) you can Create your own Project Settings.
EXAMPLE:
HBO asks for the series “SATC” to be translated in French, with only one-liners, with character limit 48 and minimum duration 1 sec and 25 frame rate
- Select “Generic – OTT – Template – 25”
- Click on “New”
- Type a Title for the new Project Settings: (eg: HBO – SATC – French 25)
- Type the Group Name (optional if you want this new Setting to appear under a group name, eg. HBO”
- OK
- Adapt the corresponding project-specific settings (Character Limit: 48, Horizontal Lines: 1, minimum duration: 25 frames)
- Save > Yes
And from that point on, you can select these settings you have created for all Episodes of SATC.
